This is Town Hall's strongest, darkest, heaviest ale. The beer is black in color, featuring roasted, chocolate, vanilla, and coffee flavors. This beer goes best with seafood, steaks and dessert. Stouts are somewhat of an amorphous style; they range from very light in alcohol content to very high in alcohol content. An example of a lighter stout would be Guinness. Guinness is a Dry Irish Stout. This stout is an oatmeal stout, which is a sweeter and heavier stout. Oats add texture and body to the beer. It is most similar to Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. The only thing these two types of stout have in common is their color. Their flavor profiles are quite different. (It is necessary to know there is a difference.)
Jet black with garnet highlights and a tan colored head, this beer checks all the boxes of the popular oatmeal stout style. The texture is smooth and silky from the addition of oats with strong roasted and dark chocolate flavors. Black H2O will remind you of drinking dark roasted coffee with a dash of cream.
